How would you like to explore your favorite dive site at night and see the changes that occur when the lights go out? Have ever wondered which animals come out at night?

Night diving is a great way to explore your favorite dive site when the sun goes down. It’s also a great way to enjoy diving “after” hours, when you get home from work. Diving does not have to be confined to daylight hours. Now you can expand your diving possibilities and learn more about the underwater environment.
Course Overview:

During the SSI Night Diver & Limited Visibility Course you will learn the proper way of how to plan and execute night dives. You will use main lights and back-up lights while diving, diver identification lights, shore or boat exit and directional lights, underwater navigation at night and how to signal your dive buddy underwater and communicate effectively even though it’s dark.

The course consists of one lecture and two open water dives for certification. During these dives you will be putting into practice all the principles you learned in the lecture.

Required Equipment and Materials: Students are responsible for providing a complete scuba equipment package including mask, fins, snorkel, boots, appropriate exposure protection, (students wishing to use dry suits must show proof of dry suit certification or they may elect to use Northeast Scuba’s dry suit option for the course), hood, mitts or gloves, BCD with LPI , regulator with octopus or alternate air source (not a “Spare air”), SPG, depth gauge, timer or watch, compass, weight system, two tanks, knife, whistle, RDP and log book. Note: Some of the very basic equipment items may be available for rental, however items such as masks, fins, snorkels, timers, knives, and whistles must be purchased.
